The
role of the teacher of today should be quite extensie and varied. Teaching
should be mainly an inspiration. With the emerging set up the responsibility of
every teacher has assumed a very great significance for building up a strong
and self-reliant nation of tomorrow. The teacher as a field worker has a wide
area to serve , the class, the community and the nation as a whole.Another
important role of the teacher today is to promote the standard of community
life in our new india.A spirit of social service should enthuse them to extend
their function beyond the walls of the classrooms.The teacher community today
should get actively involved in adult education and community service.Rural
education centers and rural universities should be set up for an effective
operations.The band of properly orientad teachers should reinforce their
activities in close co-ordination with the students and institutions at various
levels.

PERSONALITY OF THE TEACHER
Now a days
the teachers should have a healthy mind, spirit and personality .The younger
batch of teachers has hardly any love and dedication to their profession. This
is the starting point of all the evils creeping in the teachin world.There is a
lot of scope for the improvement of the personality of the teacher particularly
belonging to younger generation.The attitude of the teacher towards th estudnts
and their profession is of primary concern and much depends upon to teachre’s
attitude towards his own life.A teacher can be very friendly and can take the
positon of real partner in the same field.A smilinfg face adds to the grace of
this profession Every teacher should follow maintain a certain standard in this
personality manifestation.Optimism along with cheerfulness would help to
inspire the childrenA teacher should meet their emotional needs and promote a
healthy attitude.Thus a teacher should be mailnly a source of inspiration and a
fountain head for deriving stimulatinon.
